About Me

Hey there! I'm Shashank, a DA/Director with almost a decade worth of experience in the media industry. At the root of it, I love deep diving into stories, especially non-fiction. Starting off in the events space at Evam Entertainment (Chennai), to being a video journalist at Scroll (Mumbai) and eventually freelancing in a bunch of projects over a span of five years with roles varying from Creative Producer, DA, Director and Post Producer, my experience working in different streams has given me unique perspectives on how multiple processes work across industries.

 

From tracing the roots of breakdancing in India: Breaking New Ground for Red Bull, working with India’s next set of upcoming rappers on RedBull Spotlight to co-conceptualising the music video Maina by Seedhe Maut (3rd best MV of 2022 by Rolling Stone India), I was also the DA/Chief AD on Asian Academy Creative Awards winning documentary My Daughter Joined a Cult for Best Infotainment Programme of 2022.
